In this seminar, we will explore Hong Kong's history, focusing on its people's resistance and activism through Louisa Lim's 2022 book Indelible City. This illuminating work amplifies Hong Kongers' voices, challenging narratives centered on British colonialism and the 1997 handover. Richly researched and featuring firsthand accounts, the book reveals the city’s long struggle for
sovereignty. Geared toward middle and secondary teachers, participants will gain insights into Hong Kong's past, the 2019 protests, their aftermath, and its future. The seminar includes discussions on Lim’s text, supplemental materials, educator dialogues, and a meeting with the author.
